Student poses nude in blog and provokes outrage in Egypt
CAIRO - A college student 20 years Aliaa Magda Elmahdy posted pictures of herself naked in her blog to protest restrictions on freedom of expression and sparked outrage in Egypt, being condemned by both conservatives and liberals.

Some feared that the liberal attitude could hurt them in the eyes of very conservative before the parliamentary elections of 28 November in which they are competing with Islamic fundamentalist parties. Nudity is highly rejected by the Egyptian society, even as an art form. Aliaa wrote in his blog that the photos - which show the activist walk wearing only socks - are "screaming against a society of violence, racism, sexism, sexual harassment, and hypocrisy."
